Again

Today there was a 17.4 (Maybe- it's at a weird angle. She measured it twice yesterday and it came out as 17 and the second time as 19... she only measured it once today.) then two 15's. On the left, the 14 grew to a 16.5. So there are 2 to 4 mature follicles depending on if you think the 15's can catch up (not holding my breath). I think my lining was 10...

So, we triggered. It is done.

I have an IUI scheduled for tomorrow morning... but I gotta tell you I am not feeling it.
Of course that doesn't come as a surprise to any of you, huh?

At least this will all be over before Thanksgiving... I will be TTC free that week, one way or another, and able to relax. I wasn't planning on stressing the holiday too much anyway. I'm going to be working that morning- remember I work in a domestic violence shelter, and someone needs to be there 24/7... I get to spend it with the women there, get paid double time, avoid the in-laws, and no one will say anything about it because of where I work.

I win.

I did this last year too.
I really dislike the way my in-laws treat me and my husband. Even if I hadn't offered to work the holiday, we wouldn't be going to see them anyway. At least this way, there's less friction when we tell them we can't make it.

I hear you about the in laws, though sometimes my side came be a treat too.

Good luck with the cycle.

Hope this cycle does the trick!

So glad the cycle is not prolonged. What did they say about your lining thickness?

Penny: She said it looked good. The first inject cycle it was like a 11, so it seems to be my gold standard.

Flying Monkeys: Yeah, I get that too- they can be horrible.

I am hoping and praying that this cycle works for you! Good Luck tomorrow!

15's can certainly catch up. I know Kirke got pregnant on an injectable/IUI cycle where she triggered with 4 15's. Lining sounds great!

I know what you mean about not feeling it, but maybe that's a good thing. The cycle that worked for me, I had zero hope. We were at the end of the line before IVF (which we couldn't afford) and I had to protect my heart.

The only thing that I have taken away from all of this is that things are so random. Sometimes great looking cycles fail, sometimes awful looking cycles and circumstances work. Being a control freak and a scientist, it bugs the crap out of me that there isn't more we can do to control the different variables. It's a numbers game, with dumb luck at the wheel.

I don't blame you for working Thanksgiving. While I love the idea of a holiday about being giving thanks, it's the family drama that always takes center stage (in my family at least), and I HATE it. Plus, being vegetarian means all there usually is to eat are potatoes of various kinds, unless I cook at our house. I hope that you, DH, and your pet family have a nice time to yourself that night! And good luck with the IUI tomorrow.
